Hello,

My company recently implement a Knowledge Management System (Oracle KMS) and I want to import my site and personal dictionaries. How do I export these two dictionaries? I basically want a list of the words in those two dictionaries. I know how I will import the list into the KMS once I have the master list.

Thanks,

-Eugene

They should already exist as external files and their names and locations are specified in your maker.ini file in the [Files] section.

Look for the "UserDictionary=" and "SiteDictionary=" entries.

Note that there is also a user specifc maker.ini located at: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\10\maker.ini that may have different settgins from the main maker.ini file.

You can also manually export the Personal dictioanry only (and/or each Document's dictionary one at a time) using the following steps:

    1. Edit >  Spelling Dictionaries...

    2. Click on the Dictionaries button.

    3. Select the Personal Dictionary button and the Write to File... option from the drop-down list on the rright (if not showing).

    4. Specify where you want the file written and give it a name:

    Hello,

Thank you very much for the information. Your instructions were perfect and

I was able to extract the information in each file. Unfortunately, the list

included words that I allowed or ignore. Now I have to wade through about

    50 pages of muck.

Thanks again! I learned something new.

    Cheers,
