Question

Failed to load configuration file

Hi,

I've been trying to install the trial version of FrameMaker 9 on Vista  Home Premium, but as soon as I start the installer, I get the following  error message:

I then get Select Setup Language dialog box, but the drop-down list is  empty. I do have a BootstrapperConfig.xml file in the Installer  Resources folder, and the installer does work on my XP machine. I  couldn't find any report of such an error anywhere. Note that, oddly, the XML file looks like a binary file...

Does anybody have an idea?

Thanks!

Raph

It's now getting close to October, and this problem is still there. My Vista machine just hit the same problem.

We did find a solution for our problem, but this was on a company PC with AD company policies. When all company policies was removed before installing, everything went perfectly

It is a bad solution to remove policies, but I did work, and maybe I will give you an idea on what to look for in your situation

    Christian,

I had no trouble installing the same trial download on Windows XP. My first

machine is running Vista. I have run into quite a few install issues on

    Vista with various products.

You might have to go through the Adobe Support Portal http://www.adobe.com/go/supportportal for this. There's nothing useful about this in the FM9 Vista installation troubleshooting technote and there was a report of this same issue during the beta, but I don't know if anything was resolved.
