File too large to generate PDF

Hi everybody,

I am working on FM9 and currently trying to save my book as PDF..unsuccessfully..  I've tried a lot of options (like printing but doesn't work either) but it still doesn't work. The error message I get is that during generation, FM cannot open a particular file (149MB large...) because "it may be too large to open using available memory"... However, I have a 150GB hard disk + 4GB random access memory. I don't get it... All figures is this particular file are in PNG format and I've imported them setting a high dpi.

If someone has experienced the same problem and has found the answer, please let me know.

Thanks!

Anna

First, I'd check to ensure that you have all updates for both FM and Acrobat installed.

    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=22&platform=Windows and

    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows

OS? You didn't provide details, but if it's XP, be sure you get and download this Microsoft Hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=952909 -- it applies to all PS printers, including the logical PDF.

If the basics are under control, I'd reboot the system to free any memory that's been leaked.

Then open all the files in the book (Shift + File > Open) and try to Print to the logical PDF printer again.
