First image is black when saving FM 7.2 Book to PDF

I'm using FrameMaker 7.2 and trying to print my book to PDF.

The first figure in my document (in chapter 3) shows up black in the PDF output.

If I remove this figure, the next figure shares the same fate.

If I insert this figure again, the same behavior returns.

Has anyone else had this problem/issue?

Thanks,

Deb

Sorry - a few details that I forgot:

    1) I'm doing "Save As PDF".

    2) I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9.

    3) I'm on Windows XP.

    4) The graphic file in this case is a .jpg.

    Thanks!

First, what happens when you print to the Acrobat printer to produce the

PDF, since SaveAsPDF is a known buggy feature?

And second, I'm assuming you've already updated your XP install with the

PostScript Hotfix that's required for all PostScript printer, including

PDF. If you haven't, please do that to establish a solid baseline, and

reboot before trying to print.... http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952909

    Thanks Art.

I downloaded this, rebooted, and the problem is still there.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks VERY much!

Are you doing SaveAsPDF or printing -- you use both terms in your post.

And could you include complete environment info, please? What version of

Acrobat, or are you using the Distiller-only version that shipped with FM 7?

And OS/RAM/type of graphic files, etc.

    Cheers,
