FM 10 save as MS Word will it retain Paragraph tags?
We are thinking of upgrading our FM to 10 from 8.
Our source file is FrameMaker (currently we have FM8), we save it as .rtf for translation reasons. When we save as .rtf we noticed that some of the character tags are screwed up. In the FM10 will it retain? also when we import word document, .rtf or .doc, (our MS Word is MS Word 2010) we need to re-set the character tags. this takes lots of time.
With the new FM10, when we import MS word, will they keep the character tags sent intially from the FM10? (obvisoulsy if our translator doesn't change the character tags).
Also.... when save as PDF, in FM 10 with Window 7 operating system, we noticed we need to change the print preference to Adobe PDF, otherwise, we cannot save as PDF does not work.
Basically I am looking for pros and cons of upgrading to FM10; we do not currenlty publish our publications onto websites. Our basic function of using FrameMaker is to create a technical documents (machine manuals) in over 22 different languages. Most of our framemaker is save as .rtf to be sent to translators. we are trying to look for a way to make it easy for us import the translated word document back into FrameMaker.
Thank you,
