FM 12 (in TCS 5.0) crashing on open (Win 7, 12.02 update didn't help)

Question

I've installed and registered TCS 5.0. RH 11 works just fine, but FM 12 doesn't work: when I open FM, I see the splash screen, but it then fails. Updating to 12.02 made no difference.

Suggestions, please? I don't want to uninstall and reinstall just to see if that fixes it unless I have to: TCS 5.0 is a honking big install and it'll take a while.

When the Splash screen comes up, do you see any small text appearing in the middle of the splash screen (under the line in the middle) before it quits on you? FM is enumerating the major modules there as it loads - does it stop at a particular one every time?.

You can also check the C:\Users\<your login username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\12\consfile.txt file to see if there are any error messages posted there.

If you're really adventurous, immediately after FM quits on you, you can check your system TEMP folder for the amt3.log and oobelib.log files. Look at the end of these files (last 80 lines or so for the last session that FM tried to run). There are additional status messages on licensing and any encountered errors

Note: the TCS installation should let you just re-install individual components, so a re-install of just FM isn't that onerous.
