FM 2019 (15.0.7.973) crashes when selecting an STS file

Each time I try to select a different STS file (or navigate to one), the Publish dialog closes immediately and FM crashes (usually).   I'm working with files on my desktop and I've tried to update my FM 2019, but FM tells me i'm up-to-date. Thanks

    Can you create a new STS file? Does this work?

    What exactly do you do, before FrameMaker crashes?

    Do you get any dmp files or log files here?

    c:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\15\
