Question

Hi there

I seem to no longer be able to generate PDFs from FM 2019. I think it because I cancelled a free trial of Adobe Acrobat , I  was able to generate PDFs before my trial, and it appears that both Reader and Adobe PDF Creation 2015 are still on my PC. Any help greatly appreciated

thanks

    Hi Keli,

How are you trying to produce the PDF?

Have you tried using both the File menu and the Publish pod (now Panel...)?

When using the File menu, have you tried both Save As PDF and Print (selecting the Adobe PDF driver)?

Lastly, have you uninstalled/reinstalled FrameMaker? This might replace components overwritten and subsequently removed by your trial software.

P.S. Two things I do when things go awry with FrameMaker:

    1. (easy) Recreate your Fm prefs folder per https://techcommtools.com/framemaker-pdf-tips-and-tricks/
    2. (more involved) Remove FrameMaker with the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner tool per https://techcommtools.com/adobe-installer-issues/

Let us know if/when/how you get your PDF capability restored!

    Hi keli,

    What I would do:

    Uninstall Acrobat Pro.

Install Acrobat Reader and then FrameMaker again.

Then the applications should be reconnected.

    Best regards

    Hi,

I am sorry. Then I do not know what to do.

I would send an e-mail to the FrameMaker support:

    tcssup@adobe.com

    Best regards
