FM8 (8.0p266) in Win 7 64 bit Enterprise Hangs

This happens to me too when I highlight text sometimes (Frame 8, Windows 7, 64-bit).

I will try installing the patches.

But here is a quick workaround I discovered:

1) Open Task Manager (an option when you Ctrl-Alt-Delete).

2) Click to the Processes tab.

3) Right-click on dwm.exe and select End Process. (dwm.exe is the Windows Desktop Manager)

This frees up FrameMaker. I don't see any side effects of deleting the Windows Desktop Manager process.

Installed patches. p277 resolved the problem. Thanks to all.

2 options - mess around with your Windows settings (Aero look, etc.) to see if they have an effect; or run RH8 in the Win7 XP virtual machine (may already be installed depending on the flavour of Win7 you've got)

Installed as a native Win7 app, or in XP Mode?

If native, try XP Mode, which you may have to download first.

There are likely issues with PDF generation. Use an external search engine to search, such as:
