Font Polish

I am working with FrameMaker 7.2. I have a problem with entering text in 'Polish'. I am able to enter special characters using ASCII-Code table up to 255 - but not from 260 (start special characters 'Polish'). Could somone help me with this topic. Many thanks.

    Hi "Edithch",

    the characters required to write text in Eastern European, Cyrillic, Greek, Turkish etc. languages are more or less situated in areas of the Unicode standard that is not directly accessible with FrameMaker before version 8. So: If you could upgrade to FrameMaker 8 or 9, you would only need a font containing those glyphs and an appropriate keyboard.

    With older versions of FrameMaker the Windows operating system has a mechnism called "FontSubstitutes" that allows to create virtual subsets of fonts to comply with the Eastern European (CE - Central European) or other codepages.
