Frame 9 Conditional Text - Text color not working

I have FrameMaker 9 on a Dell Latitude 630 laptop running Windows Vista. This is the first time since upgrading (from FM 😎 that I need to use conditionalized text. The Hide/Show options function normally. However, no matter what color or attribute (underline) I set the conditionalized text to, it remains black, non-underlined text. I have tried making the text its own, entire paragraph, but that makes no difference.

I have double-checked that the following radio buttons are selected when the text is highlighted (see attached screenshot):

  • "Conditional"
  • "In"
  • and "Select:" is set to "Current"

Has anyone else run into this w/FM 9? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanx in advance!

Cheers,

Marlo

    Marlo,

When applying the Condition tag via the pod, make certain that you also click on the Condition tag that you want to apply (it will then highlight a dark blue). Then try clicking the Apply condition icon/button.

Yes, Arnis, that is the way it is done, and it is not working on Vista (32-bit) w/Frame 9. Going to report this as a bug unless someone else using Frame 9 on Vista has found a way to get it to work.

BTW, using Show/Hide DOES work for the conditionalized text. Only the color and underline attributes do not work. This is very annoying since I frequently need to peruse my documents for conditionalized text and now cannot do that.

If the Show/Hide works, then the conditions are properly being applied. It sounds like possibly a display driver issue in Vista. Have you updated your graphics card card drivers?

[Addendum: Do you still have FM8 on your laptop? If so, are conditions displaying correctly in this version?]
