FrameM 7.1: Doesn't start anymore, Internal Error 7104, 6062898, 7693379, 0

Windows XP:

I terminated FM correctly and shut down the computer. The next morning and since then always, FM will start until showing the error message and close the start-up.

Neither using a former System recovery (Systemwiederherstellung) nor de-installing and re-installing FrameMaker will help. This error message will always prohibit that FM will run.

I urgently need help.

Also try setting your default printer to the AdobePDF printer instance.

Check out Sundorne's SetPrint utility to make life easier:

    Hi,

Some time ago I had a crash at startup, which was caused by a strange entry in the user dictionary.

    My user dictionary:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\FrameMaker\7.1\user.dct

    contained the line:

    -airbags)

and this caused Error 7104, 6063074, 7693891, 0 at startup.

Reinstallation did not help since the file user.dct is retained. Editing user.dct (with Notepad) to remove the paren solved the problem.

The entry in user.dct was made by the "Learn" function of the FrameMaker spelling checker.

It only takes a minute to check, maybe it helps.

    Dear Derek,

this was a very, very good hint.

It didn't work with .dct, but it has shown where else to look. Though I

de-installed FM and deleted the Framemaker folder that remained within the

    address you gave me.

I made a restart of my computer and re-installed Framemaker, and HOOORAY,

    its running again.

Give me the possibility of showing how grateful I am.

Have a wonderful day (mine is saved already because of your help)
