Not a fan of splash screens.  Is there a way to prevent the splash screen in Framemaker 10 from displaying?  Older versions enabled you to deselect the option in preferences.  Framemaker 9 did not, seems Framemaker 10 does not either.

    If there is no "DontShowWelcomeScreen=off" line in the maker.ini file, you can just add "DontShowWelcomeScreen=on" in the [Preferences] section, as shown in the example below:

    [Preferences]

    ;--------------------------- Misc preferences ------------------------------

    ; The period MUST be used for specifying the decimal point.

    DontShowWelcomeScreen=on

    AskExit=Off

    ShowErrors=On

    ...

    I believe this will do it. In maker.ini, in the section,

    add this line:

    DontShowWelcomeScreen=On

    I don't think OYSTAR-NA had a problem with the splash screen, even though he/she called it that way. I think he/she meant the welcome screen.

    Kind regards

    Hi ,

    If you even turn off the Splash Screen, it would still load the application, Fonts, localization Settings and Plug ins,  But still if that is what you would like to remove, I would advise you to rename (do not delete), following file located at --

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\AdobeFrameMaker10\fminit

    rename -- "DWS" to DWS Old, Close FrameMaker Before renaming, the folder.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks,

    In your maker.ini file, change

    DontShowWelcomeScreen=off

    to

    DontShowWelcomeScreen=on

    Kind regards
