FrameMaker 12 and Microsoft Surface Pro 3.

I would like to run FM12 on an MS Surface Pro 3 laptop, but the appearance of the menues and buttons is far too small on this high resolution screen. Is there any possibility to customize the appearance of tool bars and menues in FM12?

Thanks in advance!

Gert

Thanks a lot, Herbert!

The trick of Dan Antonielli did the deed that was required. In case of FrameMaker 12 there is already existing a file FrameMaker.exe.manifest in the initial installation. So the first part of Dan`s trick already helped to change the appearance:

  • Look for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > SideBySide in the Windows Registry.
  • Click right and select NEW > DWORD (32 bit) Value.
  • Type PreferExternalManifest, and then press ENTER.
  • Click right on PreferExternalManifest, and then
  • Click Modify and enter Value Data 1 and select Decimal.
  • OK.

That`s it.

Thanks again!
