FrameMaker 2019 slowing down significantly

In March of this year, I had FrameMaker 2019 installed on my system, running on Windows 10 Pro. I experienced no significant issues with it - however, over time, it has become progressively sluggish - it takes forever to open a document, it freezes when I try to save my work, generate a TOC or compile a .pdf, and overall has caused a lot of frustration and productivity loss. I work with unstructured FM and have installed any available updates from Adobe.

Can anyone provide some insight on this? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Working across a network can certainly slow you down.

    Hi Marie,

Are you saving your files locally or on the network?

Did you check whether your hard disk is full?

Have you deleted your temporary files on a regular basis?

Is there a process running on your PC that consumes too much of your CPY cycles or other resources?

Is there a program running in the background that slows your machine down?

    Regards,

    Carel.

    Hi Carel,

    Thank you for your response.

I save my files on the network and there is sufficient space on my hard disk. However, I am not sure of the status of the temporary files or any processes or programs running in the background. I will check on those.
