Hi all,

I have just noticed that these updates are available. FrameMaker Downloads

For whats in 2022 Update 1, see 2022 Update 1

For 2020 Update 5, see 2020 Update 5

I am puzzled why the FrameMaker team do not post this information to this community?

Jon

Hi @JonBe:

I could be wrong but I think the 2022 update announcement was pinned briefly, but then unpinned when the webinar announcement was pinned. At any rate, I definitely remember seeing it for a brief period, but I stop by a few times a day to help answer questions—more than the average user—meaning I have a better than average chance of seeing the announcement whether or not it was pinned.

A feature of recent versions of FrameMaker is to let you if you're up-to-date on the welcome screen. (Note: I have seen this show incorrectly, so if that happens to you, please take a moment to comment on this bug report: https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/FRMAKER-11161.)

Thanks @Barb Binder.

I support two customers who have multiple FrameMaker installations and a highly customised tool so we disable the ability for a user to update FrameMaker. This caution was proven to be well founded with 2020 where Update 3 (or 2) (very unusually) required plugins to be recompiled with a newer version of the FDK.

I imagine for most personal users, the ability to update (or check for updates) via a menu item, is very convenient.

So to save me having to regularly check community posts or the downloads page, I would like the FrameMaker team to pin update notices. Most other vendors I deal with do this.

Hi Jon,

These updates were announced here:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/framemaker-discussions/update-5-for-framemaker-2019-is-now-available/m-p/10906008

https://community.adobe.com/t5/framemaker-discussions/update-1-of-framemaker-september-2022-release-is-available/m-p/13492251

However, I have the impression that I do not get all posts from this forum via e-mail. Possibly you have the same issue.

Best regards

Winfried

Thanks Winfried,

I really would have expected them to be pinned. I still do not see a post for 2020. The link above is for 2019.

Sorry. Yes, the first post was about FrameMaker 2019 and not 2020. It seems that this was not announced.

I agree that this there should be an official post. Usually updates are announced. Probably this was forgotten in this case. However, FrameMaker tells you, when there is an update.
