Dear Adobe,

We are using Adobe FM 11 and 8 in our organization, can you confirm we can use it on the same laptop?

or it has to be on separate machine?

Thanks

Jameel

Just so you know, this forum is not official Adobe customer support--

though they do sometimes look in. It is a user-to-user forum.

But the answer to your question is yes. You can install both versions

and more on the same computer. They install into different directories.

The only caveat is that the last one installed is the one Windows will

see as the default version to open a file with, if you double-click the

file in Windows Explorer. So you will have to right-click on the file

and choose Open With to open it with the other version of FM.

You also need to be careful not to install the PDF Creation Add-on

(installed by default) if you have Acrobat on your computer. Directions

    for avoiding it are here:

If the laptop is running Windows 7 Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise, and has ample RAM, you could install "XP Mode" and run FM8 (and the older Acrobat) in that virtual machine. This completely eliminates any possibility of conflict between the versions.

Multiple versions of FM can co-exist on the same machine. However, be careful of Acrobat versions. These do not play nice together and only one version is recommended.
