FrameMaker 9 Validation Error

When validating a document in FM9 i have some issues.

If i add an element to the structure that is a text container i can validate the document and the document is showing as valid. This creates a problem as some the of the attributes associated with this document are required are unset and therefore should throw up a validation error. Has anyone came across this issue before?

Hi Marco,

Do you have the validation problem within Framemaker or during XML save/open?. If your EDD defines element's attribute as required and does not set a default value for it, the validation within FM should always flag it unless the "Ignore Missing Attribute Values" is selected in element validation tab. In this case the structure view will show missing attribute value with red color.

Marti,

This is in FrameMaker. There is no default value set and "ignore Missing Attribute Values" is not set. Hence our confusion.

Have you up-to-date EDD imported to your template? Or import the edd to the document. I cannot figure any other reason for this. Any change to take a look into to those files (document and edd)?
