FrameMaker and clipboard

Hello,

In FrameMaker, I need to copy/paste a big number of texts (text only, no image).

Does FrameMaker has a "clipboard" function ? Or could you advise me a good clipboard software that I could use with FrameMaker ?

Hi All,

I was looking for a minimalistic clipboard software in order to copy text from outside FM (by example internet) to FM.

I have tried to do that with the Windows clipboard (Windows key + V), and that is exactly what I needed. It is working very well with FM.

When I copy text inside Windows clipboard, does Windows clipboard remove formatting ? Because my goal is to paste without text formatting.

Hi,

I recommend PureText. Very minimalistic and reliable. I use it daily. E.g. to paste Excel cells somewhere else or to paste something in an e-mail.

Of course you can also use an AutoIt or AutoHotkey script or something else, but PureText is easier.

Are you having problems pasting text into FrameMaker? There are times when I will copy text from somewhere (such as a CAT program screen) and try to paste it into FM and nothing is pasted. In such cases, I have to right-click at the location where I want to paste the text and select 'Paste Special' (and then select 'Text' or 'Unicode Text') in order for the text to actually be pasted into FM.

@Two-fer That's when the maker.ini hack comes in handy - by promoting TEXT to the beginning of the string, a regular paste acts like Paste Special > Text by default.
