Hello! I have been using the FrameMaker (2019 release) program for several months. The following problem occurs:

When I import a PDF files into a FrameMaker document and then try to save my FrameMaker document in PDF format («Save As PDF» or «Save As Review PDF») FrameMaker crashes (no error messages, just the program window closes).

Also, FrameMaker crashes if there are vector graphics in FrameMaker document and I try to save my document in PDF format.

The problem occurs on both home computer and office computer.

The following software is installed on the home computer: Windows 8.1 Professional, Adobe Acrobat XI, Java 8.

The following software is installed on the office computer: Windows 10, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Java 8.

The program is absolutely wonderful, but the problem described above makes it difficult to work.

Please help!

Thank you in advance!

re: Also, FrameMaker crashes if there are vector graphics in FrameMaker document and I try to save my document in PDF format.

What vector format?
(e.g. Frame graphics, SVG, EPS, DWG, etc.)

Good day!

I used SVG format. The problem was solved by using the options «Print to the Adobe PDF printer» and «Publish to PDF» (see previous correspondence).

It looks strange, but options «Save As PDF» or «Save As Review PDF» still crash the program (with embedded vector graphics files).

Thank you for attention!

I just did a simple test in FM2020, of a fresh document with an imported SVG pie chart. The very first Save-As-PDF:
• started generating the PDF
• winked-out FM
• but then launched Acrobat to view the PDF (which existed)
• and had been created in C:\Users\{usename}\Documents\…
• and given the name of an email I'd saved two weeks ago (!)
• and, the SVG got tagged with some color profile that visibly desaturated the colors.

None of this was repeatable, or I'd file a Tracker on it. Save-As-PDF is working as expected now.

What point version of FM2019 are you running? Is it totally up to date? Have you tried any of the other ways of creating PDFs from FM? (like Print to the Adobe PDF printer instance, publishing to PDF)

Good day! I am using version 15.0.8.979. I tried using options «Print to the Adobe PDF printer» and «Publish to PDF» - the program works correctly.

It looks strange, but options «Save As PDF» or «Save As Review PDF» still crash the program.

Thank you very much for the tip!
