FrameMaker keeps adding unwanted sideheads

Hello, I am using FrameMaker 11.

I have set up left and right master pages that have a simple single-column text box with no room for sideheads.

Yet when I view the body and apply master pages, the body often gives the text box a sidehead. How can I make my master page settings stick?

Check your document configuration (Format > Page Layout > Column Layout...) to see if you have the Room for Side Heads option enabled. This is a document level setting and will mess with the Body pages.

Thank you for this suggestion. In this case, one of our template master pages is rotated, which apparently disables the Column Layout dialog box.

I created this template with "Allow room for sideheads" disabled. However, I'll frequently be working on a file and suddenly notice that all of the text boxes now have that option selected for absolutely no reason.

    I'll keep looking into this.
