Question

Generate 3 or more subheadings for each chapter in PDF output in the ToC/bookmarks?

Hello again. When I produce a PDF output from a FM book, the PDF ToC/bookmarks only show the chapter title and the next subheading level down, e.g., 2 and 2.1. But I need them to display and linked to at least 3 and possibly 5 levels of detail, e.g., 2.1.1 and 2.1.1.1.1.

How do I get at least 3 levels of subheadings to show up in the PDF file?

Cheers -- John

In the PDF Output section of the Using FrameMaker manual, this is described in the Configure (or Customize) Bookmarks sub-section.

Hey stranger. Thx for the input. Picking up any new standards work? I'm wrapping up one but no new work ahead.

The manual is a tad bit confusing at first as it references File > Publish.

To set up the bookmarks, you need to go to: Format > Document > PDF Setup

This does appear later on in the manual:

    Configure bookmarks and tags

-- You can customize the way PDF Bookmarks and Tags are generated in the PDF output of a FrameMaker document or book. Use the PDF Setup dialog to configure the bookmarks and tags.
-- To access the PDF Setup dialog, click Format > Document > PDF Setup.
    Configure bookmarks
-- The Bookmarks tab in the PDF Setup dialog allows you to configure the bookmarks to include in the PDF.

    Hi,

I'm doing the IEEE SystemVerilog standard. I pinged the other IEEE standards program managers, but did not find any interest. The Accellera Board of Directors is meeting tomorrow. If they approve work on a SystemVerilog-AMS standard, I'm a candidate for that. Otherwise, I don't have anything else at the moment.

    Regards,

    Shalom
