Generate Acrobat Data overrides paper size
I have a team of approximately 40 users, all running 64-bit FrameMaker 2019 on Windows 10 (PC). We print to the Adobe PDF printer to create pdfs, and check the box for "generate Acrobat Data". For *decades*, when we need to print a document as A4 instead of US Letter, we have been able to simply select the correct paper size in print setup and proceed (templates are set up with text frames that fit on either size). For the last couple of months, this no longer works.
Frame will alter the width, but the height stays at 11", no matter what. The ONLY wany print to pdf results in the correct size is without generating Acrobat data, but then we have 200-page books with no bookmarks, and adding them back manaully is not an option. I've tried the following:
- Changing the default paper size of the printer
- reinstalling Adobe pdf printer
- manually setting a paper size within the Acrobat data setup
- Create a new set of joboptions for Distiller with A4 as the paper size
Save as pdf does not work.
Publish to pdf works for some users, and we can get pdfs with bookmarks that are A4. For other users, when they try this method on the exact same document, the pdf will not render numbers or symbols correctly, including punctuation.
Why can't we print to pdf on A4 and still generate bookmarks anymore? This has worked since at least FM9, and worked in v2019 until just recently. What changed, and how can I get this fixed? What's glitching with fonts using the "Publish" method?
