Getting rid of single letters in index

Hello!

Creating and index with framemaker I would like to get rid of the letters at the beginning (in red), e.g.:

A

Action

Apple

Artist

B

Bakery

Beachball

Bubble

Where exactly on reference page is that coded?

Hello,

I did the opposite for the heading letters in a glossary. I changed them to a large Gallia font for a more artistic appearance.

I took a quick look at all the books in my office and all but two have index letters. They really do help readers find the section they are looking for. And you are not saving much by removing 26 lines of type.

Yours,

Michael F

I suspect that's the GroupTitlesIX paragraph on Reference Page IX.

If so, removing it, or changing the para fmt to something non-magical (say, GroupTitlesIX.not), would make the IX headings disappear.
