Gujarati in Framemaker v.16 PDF export

Hi.

A lot of my FrameMaker work includes Gujarati text. Exporting them to PDF worked fine up to FM 2017. But in the new FM, the Gujarati comes out haywire.

Help?

Oh for crying out loud. I was using Arial Unicode. I just tried Shruti and it looks fine. Problem solved.

    THANK YOU, DUDE!!

Along with the details Jeff asked for, can you provide screen captures of your content in Fm and in the processed PDF?

Thank you, Matt, but our friends above already have me back in the saddle. But thanks again.

re: …the Gujarati comes out haywire.

    How so?
The Gujarati Unicode block (U+0A81…U+0AD0) is in the BMP, so the characters would be expected to render properly, if the font(s) in use populate the code points. If a legacy codepage/overlay font had been in use, the problem may lie there.

What method are you using to create the PDF? What new FM are you using?

    I'm using FM Version 16.04.1062.

Save to Pdf, Print to Pdf, Publish / Pdf. Same result with all.

Update: problem solved. It was just the font.
