Question

Gujarati letter spacing

Hi. I upgraded to Framemaker 16.0.4.1062, and now when I export a pdf with Gujarati text, the letter spacing is haywire. I've tried Arial Unicode and Adobe Gujarati. Same result. This text pdf'd fine with Framemaker 2017, and still does with MS Word or Adobe InDesign. Help?

Maybe time to contact the FM folks - see https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#framemaker for your Adobe Support options. I'd recommend using the tcssup@adobe.com e-mail address as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including FrameMaker.

    Hi Allen,

How did you create the PDF? Did you save as PDF (preferred)? With or without Distiller?

What are the settings in the publish pod?

Or did you save as Postscript and converted the Postscript file to PDF?

I did not test it, but I do not see anything special.

    Best regards

    Thanks Winfried.

Save to pdf with Distiller looks ok except for the Gujarati, as above. Print to Pdf is even worse, I'm afraid.

And what about Publish to PDF?
