I want to update the master pages of all docs in a book using a jsx script but im not sure how to do it.

I have a template.fm file which contains the desired master page format . This format has to applied to all the docs in the book file.

Can someone help with any pointers so that the necessary script can be completed??

You want something like this:

doc.SimpleImportFormats (template, Constants.FF_UFF_PAGE);

where doc is your target Doc variable and template and template is your source Doc variable.

Is it not possible to just import the master pages from the template to the book?

1 Select all files in the book

2 File->import formats-> select Page Layouts only ->Import from template file

... are there reasons why this procedure will not work for you?
