Hiding file path

The elements in my book are displayed with the entire file path

Ie., C:\directory\subdirectory\sub-sub directory\sub-sub-sub directory) -- and so on.

How do I get FM to simply display the filenames of the elements? I know where the book is

and clearly FM does too. How do I display the book element file namess and nothing else?

Cheers,

JP

Correct answer Jeff_Coatsworth

I thought that was controlled by a Preference setting, but I can't find it - it may be in the maker.ini

To Error7103, yes, I'm speaking about the book menu. Yes, Jeff, I googled up a document that also said the it was controlled by a line in the maker.ini file. I'm trying to find an easier way around my difficulties by starting over in a new directory and specifying the complete filepath when saving the "Untitled" book file, and when adding the chapter files. That seems to be working ok, but note that when I did this, only the containing directory -- not the complete filepath -- is shown for elements in the book menu.

Anyway, it seems that I've worked around this problem. Thanks, gentleman, for your time -- it's good that we can put this problem to bed so that your are able to spend time on the myriad additional questions I have.

Cheers,

JP

Are you speaking of the Book menu, the window borders, or via variables in the text?
