Question

How can I make a selection Bold in Frame 11? The conventional methods are not working.

I'm not able to select and bold text. I used the conventional methods as I did in the last few Frame versions, but the text is not bolded. Any suggestions? We may need to leave Frame - this is a fairly big deal.

Apply a character format with font weight set to bold to the selected

text. If applying to a whole paragraph, use a paragraph format instead.

Be sure the font weight is Bold, not Bolded-- which shows up as a menu

choice when the bold font is missing.

Of course, you must have the bold font actually installed on your

    computer in \windows\fonts.

For why that might have worked, and now doesn't appear to, see also: Bold tag suddenly disappeared, can't reapply

Does the typeface that you are using actually have a bold family member?

You should be using a paragraph tag that includes bold as part of its definition; if you’re just selecting text and applying bolding to it (like via CTRL-B), then you’re creating an override that creates in-line styling.

Thank you! I am using a paratag w/ bold, but this is good info.

So what is the problem if you’re already using a para tag with bold defined inside it?
