How can we fix FM19's "missing pages" problem?

Hello FrameMaker Forum Community,

We have recently upgraded to FrameMaker 2019 from FrameMaker 2017 and when we attempt to Publish a chapter of over 75 pages there are intermittent pages blanked out in the output file. This also occurs when we Print to PDF.

OS: Windows 10, v1809 (also occurs on v1803)

ACC: Enterprise, Full Suite

Any help you can provide we will appreciate.

Best,

David

The issue has been identified and the fix would be available in the next patch which is due soon. For time being, there are two workarounds for this issue:

  • Uninstalling Helvetica family from your system
  • Removing double-quotes/ apostrophe present in the content with Helvetica font applied on it.

Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. It does appear to be a font issue (we are not using the Helvetica family) as when we removed all fonts the pages no longer output blank. Once we know which font, I will update this thread.

After more searching we found that it was, as you directed, a Helvetica font space that was hiding within a graphic that was not yet flattened to the document. Thank you again for the help.

Best regards,

David
