How do I get Master Page names to display in FM11?

I've never had to set this option; the page name has always displayed at the bottom of the master page. Is there a setting in FM 11 that turns it off/on?

AFAIK, it's not an option. However, I seem to recall that in the recent FrameMaker versions, it's sometimes possible to obscure the status bar at the bottom of the screen with a user-interface item. I also seem to recall even more vaguely that it's sometimes possible to enlarge the document frame, or drag it down, either of which can push the status bar below the visible screen.

Some window management operation in 7.1/Unix (might be re-size) frequently causes the status bar to be push under the OS task bar, and that would obscure the MP name, among other things.

I've not noticed a change in behavior...can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing?

I moved the Variables pod. That was obscuring the name of the Master Page. The way the GUI displays the name of the master page has changed, so I was scrolling to the bottom of the page to see the name (where I have seen it in previous versions). It is now in a panel that runs along the bottom of the GUI. That panel can be covered when pods are placed there. Live and learn.
