Question

How do I Preview Entire Document?

I am a brand new Adobe FM user and I'm using the 2019 version. I know there is a way to preview all pages of a document so that I can adjust page breaks to remove white space as needed. How do I accomplish this in Adobe FM 2019?

Thanks in advance,

Crystalynn

    Hi Crystalynn:

The closest thing to a preview in FrameMaker is to use the View menu hide Text Symbols and Borders, and then perhaps zoom out to a 2-page view. That's how I make my last pass through a book in FrameMaker to make my final layout adjustments.

Normally, page breaks are controlled by Paragraph Designer » Pagination properties Start, Keep_With and Widow/Orphan. Paragraphs then auto-adjust what page they are on as other content is added/deleted/modified.

If you have been using the Insert » Page_Break tool, be aware that what it does is apply a:
    Start [Top of Page]
to the selected paragraph, as an override (which is not recommended for various reasons).

There's no preview all pages in FM - you could create a PDF to see that sort of thing, but you should be able to see it in your doc on the screen just as well.
