How I fixed Error 205 on Adobe FrameMaker
So firstly I checked the logs, it said it was not picking up the license, so I needed to sign into my adobe account within the application, I could not do this initially because of error 205, it just kept force quitting the software. I have had an issue like this before and signing in and out usually fixes it in adobe products, but how can I do this if it force quits on opening? Well I found a trick:
- Click 'Restore Last Session' button as soon as you open FrameMaker
- It ideally should be a fresh install, no sessions on your computer anywhere
- Leave open the message box and wait for Error 205 message to display, then click OK
- You should then get another message box come up saying "Can not Quit" or something like that
- Now you should be able to sign in and out of the software and enable the license in the cloud.
Other things I did / tried:
- Ran the program as administrator
- Enabled it in the firewall settings
I am not sure if these made a difference or not.
Anyway I thought I would post this as I think its a good trick incase anyone had similar issues.
