how to get title.0 text from a subpage in ditamap

I'm still working my way through ditamap.

 

I need to demote several pages under a chapter page, but the header/footer of those demoted pages couldn't access the chapter text, which is obviously in another XML file.

How to carry over some of the text from chapter pages for header/footer purpose?

Forgive my mistake, in haste I forgot to include the details.

FM is 17, Windows 11.

 

To explain further, the problem is how to access chapter title (title.0) from a parent XML document in my ditamap? I intend to heavily use submaps for my book.

 

The parent XML, chapter introduction, is using chapter template.

The child XMLs, sections for the chapter, are using section template.

 

I have duplicated all paragraph styles on both templates, including the header/footer, to get a uniform look for the book.
