how to import a template in several FM files

Hello,

I have opened 5 FM files. So I have 5 tabs opened.

I have created a template with tags.

I would like to apply the template on all opened FM files (5 files) in one go. How to do this ?

Because actually, I am obliged to do File/Import/Format, but for one file only. So I am obliged to do the same for each FM file opened.

The method of choice is to create a temporary book:

  • Your first file is already active, so create new book containing this file
  • Add the other files to the book
  • (Probably it is not nescessary to save the book with a name - but this out of my head)
  • Select all files in the book window and import the formats.

This may not be more effective for just 5 files compared with the "one file at a time" method, but for more files it definitely is.

I understand very well what you are saying (for the book mode), but in that case, I am not in the book mode : I have simply done Control+O to open several FM files. So I have 5 FM files opened.

I would like to select these 5 FM files and make File/Import/Format, but I don't know how to select all these files, in order to apply the template on all these FM files opened in one go.

When these files are not in a book, you can import formats only into one after the other.

Or better: Create a dummy book and import the page layout and then delete the book.

Just open your template file.

Then select all files in the book into which you want to import the layout.

In the File menu select Import and then Formats.

In the dialog check the source file, deselect everything apart from Page Layouts and then click Import.

The files into which you want to import something do not have to be open.
