How to remove character tag globaly

I have several large books that contains 30 + documents each. Throughout the documents in these books a specific character format has been applied hundreds of times. I want to know if there is a way (short of writing a script) to remove the character tag throughout a book. I am familiar with how to find the tag using the Find tool and how to change it to the Default font using the character catalog. What I am looking for is a global solution.

    You might want to have a look at Silicon Prairie's Character Tools. This allows you to remove tags (from ither a document or files in a book) that aren't in a specified list (kind of a backwards approach) and/or convert tags to the default paragraph format.

    Hi,

    Once I wrote a FrameScript script to remove character formats.

    The script itself is free, but requires the FrameScript plug-in.
