How to set up bleeds?

Hi,

I have a bleed on one edge of my page. I can extend the image 1/8 inch off the page, but am uncertain whether doing so will produce the desired result for the print vendor because I cannot see it in FM12. Am distributing a PDF, is this the best way to set up a bleed?

The FM page size is independent of the sheet size you specify at output when creating the PDF. FM will draw all objects on or off the "page".

As a follow-up, how do I get the bleed to show in the resulting PDF? The page size is 8.5x5.5. Should I just print the book to PDF onto 8.5x 11 or is there another way using Save As PDF?

It's not clear what you mean by showing the bleed. If you output to a sheet that is larger than the FM page size, then everything outside of the FM page area (up to the sheet dimensions) will also be visible as FM centers the page on the sheet. Are you wanting to display the specific PDF bounding box for "bleed"?

    Hi,

Yes, the bounding box would be fine.

    Thanks,
