I can't get the Glossary feature to work in HTML Help output (FrameMaker 12)

Hello,

I am currently trying out FrameMaker 12, in particular its ability to publish directly to HTML Help.

I cannot seem to get the Glossary feature to do anything at all.

I have added "GlossaryTerm" markers to a few words in my Frame source, and added a glossary entry to the Marker Text.

In the Publish dialog, I've selected HTML Help, clicked Edit Settings, and in the Publish Settings dialog, I've selected the Style Mapping tab > Other Settings, and in the Glossary panel, I've made sure that the Marker Type is set to "GlossaryTerm" and I've tried all the Style options (Hyperlink, Tooltip, Popup, etc...)

But when I generate my HTML Help, I don't see anything happening for the words I've added GlossaryTerm markers too. No hyperlinks, tooltips, popups or anything.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

I know there was a bug about this in the initial Frame 12 release, but the evaluation copy I'm running is Frame 12.0.1.331.

Do you get any entries generated for the Glossary at all in the output? I get them there, but I also can't set the behaviour within the content to do any of the link, tooltip, pop-up stuff either. Looks like it's still broken.

So far I've only been trying to see a result in situ in the topic.

Actually, I'm not sure where else in the CHM I should be looking in order to see a Glossary? When I open the CHM there's Contents, Index and Search tabs, no Glossary tab. Where should I be looking?

Glossary features works with following three steps

Let us take the following example with explanation inside {}

Adobe System's Portable Document Format {definition of PDF}

…

1> Tag definition

a. Select the definition "Adobe System's Portable Document Format"

b. From the Special menu, choose Marker to open the Marker pod.

c. In the Marker pod, select Glossary from the Marker Type list.

d. Specify the Marker Text as PDF and click New Marker.

In the above steps, you have defined PDF as Portable Document Format.

2> Next, you need to apply this definition to wherever the term PDF is used in other parts of the document.

a. Select the word PDF { ... trip to Word and PDF formats..... }

b. In the Marker pod, select GlossaryTerm from the Marker Type list.

c. Leave the Marker Text as PDF and click New Marker.

You may perform the above steps for other desired instances of PDF as well

3> Selecting Glossary styles for output using Adobe FrameMaker 12 * Using output generation options and publish
