I have Adobe Tech Comm Suite 4. Cannot save FrameMaker 11 book as PDF.

I have Adobe Tech Comm Suite 4. Cannot save FrameMaker 11 book as PDF. .

I suspect that the problem has to do with the Adobe PDF Creation Add-On printer instance. If so, how to I install it. And why would it be missing. I installed FM 11, as well as Acrobat from Adobe Tech Comm Suite 4.

Can you print a book using the Adobe Printer instance, not SaveAs?

File > Print Book > Acrobat, etc.

I have worked with FrameMaker for 15 years and thought I knew it WELL, but i have never had so much difficulty trying to solve a problem. I see no way to select File > Print Book > Acrobat,.. It appears to me that I am missing the PDF printer or whatever it is called now. I understand Distiller, but now it seems to be used differently.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I am comparing what is on XP system vs. this Windows 7 system. Frustrated, but appreciate the help. I will continue to look at Acrobat, etc. I found someone's comment that said he can only create PS file and then use Acrobat Distiller to generate PDF. BUT, I never had to do that. Also, I found some older forum info that said FM 10 had a problem and it was an Adobe problem (2-3 years ago).

Have you installed all the updates? As I recall, the initial version of

FM 11 had a bug that prevented book printing. It was fixed in a later

patch. The same bug crept into FM 12 and was fixed with a patch.
