i have an a problem starting framemaker, it will prompt an Error:5

Can you also please specify which version (including point release) of FM and what operating system version that you are using.

Does the FM icon display at the start up or do you immediately get the error message? [A screen capture of the message would help, as I've not seen this before.]

Is there any additional information in the console log (consfile.txt in your personal FM area)?

Did this just start happening or has it always acted this way? If it just started, what’s changed in your environment? Have you tried things like uninstalling/reinstalling yet?
