Question

Index links are breaking while exporting to PDF

Hello Team,

I am having a standard template format for my project, where my work is to just edit that template & save-as it with a different file name.

1st all the links in the template were working while exporting it to PDF.

But now when I export the book into PDF the links i.e. when we click in TOC on some topic it should take us to that page, so this link is not working.

Please can you guide me or provide me with some solution to get this issue resolved?

Do you also generate a table of contents? Are all the links from it working?

No, from TOC none of the links are working, can you send a procedure for
linking TOC to heading 1,2,3 of the paragraph?
Another thing I have found is that I have deleted some pages, and page no.
in TOC is not updating as per the header.
So that might be the reason the links have breaks.

Is there any procedure to update page no. in the TOC so that it gets linked
    with the headers?

Are you typing the TOC out or using FrameMaker's TOC generation?

Hi Might it be because you have not indicated that you want the index to be hyperlinked in the Index Setup? ...

    Hello, Mohd.Faisal,

as the information you gave is very small here a few questions.

    1) What FrameMaker version do you use?

    2) How do you start a new project? Please tell us step by step.

    3) Do you get any error messages while working with the new project?

    4) Can you provide a non-working version of a project so we can have a look into it?

    1) What FrameMaker version do you use? *Adobe Frame Maker 2022.*

    2) How do you start a new project? Please tell us step by step.

*I have past project references, and very minor changes were there that's
    why I have saved-as it & done the changes. & prepared a book.1st it's
working fine, all the links were also working in PDF, but from
tomorrow none of the links after exporting it to PDF are not working, also
when we click on a topic in TOC it's not taking to that particular page.*

    3) Do you get any error messages while working with the new project? *Yes,
but previously also i was getting the same error msg but was able to create
PDF & all links were working.*

    4) Can you provide a non-working version of a project so we can have a look
    into it? *No*

    Thanks & Regards

    Q 2)

What do you do? Copying the old project to a new location?

Do you update the project files (TOC, Index etc.) before you make the pdf?

My idea is that the paths of the links are not updated / get broken.

    Q 3)

What is/was the text of the error message?
