I have tried checking each files to make sure there is nothing wrong with the files.

No idea what do you mean by FM8 binary. How to I save it to FM8 binary.

The FM "binary" is just the .fm file that you normally save as.

A MIF wash is easily worth a try here. It clears out most kinds of corrupt structures.

MIF wash is a mouse click in later versions of FM. For FM8:

  1. Make backup copies of your .book and component .fm files.
  2. Open the the book & component files.
  3. Save each as MIF to .book.mif and .mif (instead of .fm).
  4. Close all files (I'd exit and re-start FM as well).
  5. Open all .mif files.
  6. Save as FM8 binary, replacing the original .book and .fm files.
  7. Try an update now.
