Is an Adobe FrameMaker Reference Page "Best Practice" Template that is used during FrameMaker Essentials Part 2 and Part 9 Webinars available to download and use as a baseline Reference Page for projects?

Can a Refence Page be imported or does a cut and paste to a new baseline Reference Page required? Thank you so much for your assistance. Tony

    Hi Tony:

I based all of the demo files on a template that ships with FrameMaker: File > New > Document > Explore Standard Templates > User Guide > Chapter.

And yes as per Bob, you can import reference pages from one file to another using File > Import > Formats > Reference Pages.

Ok, just found the playlist - both part 2 & part 9 were done by Barb - shoot her a message & see if she can share it with you.

Tony: Can a Refence Page be imported…

If you can get the .fm file that used the page(s), you can:

    • Open it
    • Open or create your own project .fm, and in that project.fm:
    • File🞃
        Import >
          Formats …
      Import from Document [sourcefilename.fm]
      [Deselect All]
      ☑ Reference Pages
      [Import]

Now if you only want one page, or specifically don’t want your other Ref pages overwritten, then create a new empty Reference Page of suitable name, and use copy&paste.

I can’t even recall who was doing those ones - if you know, try pinging them here. I suspect it’s either @Barb Binder or @techcommtools (Matt Sullivan)
