Question

Is it possible to anchor a TextFrame?

Hello,

I want to anchor a TextFrame below a line so that it acts like an AnchoredFrame. The current behavior is for text that is added to the line above my TextFrame to run around it. Instead, I want new text to push the TextFrame down. Is this possible and what additional information should I provide to the community to assist them in helping me?

Thanks!

The easiest way to do that might be to use a borderless table. 1 row. 1 column. Ruling all None. Fill all None. Set width to column width. No Title. Set space above and below as required to mimic the paragraphs typically used.

Create a Table Catalog entry named "Borderless" if you need this a lot.

You can also put a text frame in an anchored frame, but the table trick is easier to implement and maintain.

Hi Hunter,

To add a text frame that moves with the text flow, add an anchored frame to your text, and place the text frame inside of the anchored frame.

That works. Thanks mattrsullivan. Follow-up question: Is there an automatic way to resize a TextFrame so that it completely fills its AnchoredFrame?

No, but you could instead size the text frame, then select the anchored frame and use Esc, m,p to autosize the anchored frame...
