Question

Landscape/Portrait & Headers and Footers

This is a two-part question.

I added two disconnected pages as they needed to be landscape as opposed to portrait. After adding the two disconnected pages, I created a table that has 14 rows. So upon adding that number of rows, the table was then populated to a portrait page that I did not add. Can someone explain to me what happened and how I can fix it to where the table is completed on the two landscape pages I added?

In correlation to the landscape pages I added, the Headers and Footers on now on the right and left sides of the layout, but I need to put them on the top and bottom of the layout. I’m unable to figure out how to do that. Is someone able to explain how I make that change?

Learn about the AMP (Apply Master Pages) feature of FM. From memory:

    1. Run an AMP on the current document to auto-create (if needed)
      Reference Page » MasterPageMaps
    2. Create a new pair of L/R Master Pages, from existing Pages Left & Right,
      perhaps named Left.LS & Right.LS
    3. Edit those MPs to rotate and place all the frames as needed.
    4. For whatever Paragraph Format anchors the Body text Table(s),
      spin-off a new format name, perhaps Body.LS
    5. Back on Ref Page MasterPageMaps, edit the UnstructMasterPageMaps
      You'll need a row like:
TagName | RH Master | LH Master | Range
      Body.LS | Right.LS | Left.LS | Until changed
    6. also add an assortment of normal body para format names, all:
TagName | RH Master | LH Master | Range
Body  | Right  | Left  | Until changed
      Heading1  | Right  | Left  | Until changed
etc. This is to re-map the portrait pages after the table.
    7. Back on the Body pages, add a para of type Body.LS, and run an AMP
    8. Format » Page Layout » Apply Master Pages
    9. Back on the Body pages, there should be an empty landscape page where ¶Body.LS is.
      Insert the table.

FM doesn't automatically re-AMP when content is added before the LS page, or as the table grows to need another page. You have to run AMPs from time to time.

Let us know how it works.
Avoid using disconnected pages whenever possible, and the AMP feature does avoid it.

Instead of adding two landscape disconnected pages, you should create landscape master pages that you can apply to the body page after you create your table.

Ok, I'll try that. Thank you.
