Letter template user guide

Am looking for some ideas to spruce up a rather plan user guide that is US-letter size. The FM templates are rather boring. I can't use color. Perhaps a link to a PDF or something that will give me more ideas or get my creative juices flowing?

    can't give you a link here, but drop me a message and I'll sort one out (legitimately!) away from the corporate lockdown. Generous use of white space is what I tend to aim for, and easy navigation.
