Make pod dialog box narrower?

Is there a way to make a dialog box narrower? There is now apparently a limit to how narrow you can make them.

I sometimes like to keep one open and at the current limit, they still cover up some text.

E.g.,  I'm adding index entries and I want to keep the Marker box up so I don't have to close/open it constantly. At this point, I don't need to see most of the columns and shrinking them still doesn't allow you to shrink the box.
