Nested TOC in HTML5 output?

I am trying to generate a nested TOC in HTML5 output. 

I have tried generating a TOC within FM and changing the TOC indentations in paragraph designer:

Heading 1

     Heading 2

 

Still not sure what more I need to do. My HTML5 output is still 1 layer; there are no nests.

    No, it would have to be a Heading 2 (or something sub-Heading 1) with an indent

    Alright. 

    I have renamed my headings as Header and Subheader. 

    I changed the indents (as shown in the highlighted areas). The HeaderTOC has 0.0 first indent and my SubheaderTOC has a 10.0 first indent. These changes are on the TOC file.

     

    Are there specific style mappings I am supposed to use as well in the Publish settings? Or can FM generate nested TOCs with just editing the TOC file?

    You've got something messed up in your FM TOC - I would have expected to see the Heading1 applied on "Chapter 11: Placards & Markings" - not on "11".
    The other ones in your list - "Placard Install - Single Cockpit" etc. all look like they are H2's in your TOC, so they are all at the same level in the HTML5 TOC.

    If I want  "Placard Install - Single Cockpit" etc. to be nested inside of Chapter 11, would they all have to be the same Heading1 with different indents?

    That should do it - traditionally RH (the generating engine under the FM hood) used those clues in the FM TOC to build the RH one for the output. There's an Adobe Tech Comm Blog post about it someplace...

    My output looks super weird, only one item (Chapter 11) is being nested after I messed around with it some more in FM:

    The rest wont stay nested, not sure why.
