New to Framemaker (V5.5)! TOC Question

I am new to using Framemaker and currently using V5.5 for a document I am updating.  Being a MS Office user throughout school, I have found FM quite involved...to say the least!  The document I am updating has six different files and one TOC, one LOF, and one LOT.  I have added a section to one of the files and this section DOES appear in the PDF bookmarks (links) after the book is compiled, however, the TOC is not being updated automatically to include this section or page numbers do not update; table#'s (for new tables) or pg#'s don't get updated either.  Not sure if/how the reference pages need update or if this is what initiates these updates.  The online help is not much help, any feedback is appreciated!  Thank you.

When you say the book is compiled, I hope that you mean you're running the re-generate/update on it. You need to update the book to force the generated files to pick up the new content. Also, the tagging in the new section has to match what you've included elsewhere in the TOC, otherwise you have to add the new tags to the TOC for this content.

To add the new paratags, you have to select the TOC file in the book and do the TOC setup again to move any new paratags from the right-side Don't Include column to the left Include column.

You will also then probably have to modify the formatting in the TOC for these paratgs which will then have a "TOC" prefix.
