Newbie Question #1: Creating New Document

I have written jsx scripts from existing documents but am having issues creating new objects.

How do I create a new blank portrait document? the app.documents.add() command does not work for me. The results will only contain a single table so I do not think a template is needed.

Rick...do you recall where this menu came from that you posted back in 2019? It looks like the kind of ExtendScript book I've been looking for. The free stuff online from Adobe is pretty much useless the beginner. I'm interested in any books you recommend for learning FrameScript and ExtendScript. Curt
